Hi JW
Wondered if this would be an Alice in Wonderland kind of story - just a grownup version.

nstead, I found a story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat - just watching with the watcher and wondering how the two - one on either side of the looking glass - were connected.

The slowed-down action and the gradual unfolding of the direction - moving back and forth between the two sides of the mirror - has the effect of increasing the tension.
And always there's the question of 'what does the change look like?' I'm expecting an intervention/a sudden rescue.

And I keep wondering why the lines sound so familiar to the listener.

The first shock comes in the recognition.

 The second is the ending.

This is a well-crafted, well-paced story and points in a painful direction.

Thank you for sharing your writing.

Damien Prince is one of the wealthiest African-Ameican men in the world. but he's tired of the way he and his fellow African-American people are treated in this country. Despite his great wealth, he still feels like a second -class citizen, so he and his secret militant group "The Apes" devise a plot, that involves a super-secret new technology, to change America once and for all.  The solution-Create a new America where Blacks are the ruling body and the only way to accomplish that is- War. But how can one man and few militant Blacks win a war against over 190 million Whites?  And if he pulls it off? will it really be the ideal world he wants? Packed with plot twist and turns, action, science, and hot button social issues,  The Dance is an epic thriller that every American of any race can relate to in some way.

You make a very valid point with this piece. And one that I think deserves more attention. How can we, or should I say, why do we, judge each other? We are all created equal in my mind. The operative word here is 'created'. What we do with ourselves during our lifetime does make a difference. A serial killer is no longer as equal as Mother Theresa was. I think you said it all this with this. Good job. You do have a couple of niggles in there in case you want to revise this. Here's one typo:"Then we do what the[y] want."
This piece makes one think. Kudos!
